Ian got into music in his mid-teens, which included five long years of formal tutoring in classical guitar. He also played in a band through the latter part of high school and college and in between managed to apply himself just enough to qualify in civil engineering.
Music took a back stage from the mid-eighties. Military service and a number of years concentrating on sport (running, duathlons and triathlons). An acoustic guitar was always close by.

After playing rock music in bands since 1972, in 1990 I left the city & my youthful ambition to be a rock star behind, choosing a simple rural life in the hills south of Bridgetown. After being introduced to old country blues I emerged reborn as a latter day Hill Country Bluesman.
